Clark J. Jensen, O.D., F.A.A.O.

Dr. Clark did his undergraduate studies at Simpson College. He obtained his B.S. in Health Services in 1974 and Doctor of Optometry in 1976 at Pacific University. In 1997 Dr. Clark was appointed Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Pacific University College of Optometry. Dr. Clark joined Jensen Optometrists in 1976 and has been in practice for 35 years. He was Contributing Editor of Optometry Today, a professional journal, and has published articles in Optometry Today, The Contact Lens Spectrum, and The South African Optometrist.

Dr. Clark loves to teach and has done so as Senior Lecturer at University of the North, Sovenga, South Africa. He was also Director of Optometry Clinics while at University of the North, and has given continuing optometric education lectures within the United States as well as South Africa. He is a member of the Iowa Optometric Association, American Optometric Association, South African Optometric Association, a Fellow of American Academy of Optometry, past President of the Heart of America Chapter of the American Academy of Optometry, Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity (VOSH)/Iowa, and is the Iowa Representative on the Vision Service Plan Regional Professional Committee.

Dr. Clark's community involvement includes being a current member of the Grinnell United Methodist Church, Grinnell Lions Club, and a past President of the Grinnell Jaycees. Dr. Clark is on the Grinnell Regional Medical Center Foundation Board, and past Chairman on Grinnell Regional Medical Center's Board of Trustees.

Dr. Clark continues to speak at continuing education seminars as well as educate his staff and patients.

Scott B. Collings, O.D.

Dr. Scott Collings joined the Jensen Optometrists team in August 2008. He graduated from Illinois College of Optometry where he was the Class Representative for three years, a teaching assistant, Gold Key Member, Clinical Excellence Award recipient, and received the Dr. Irving A. Kernis Memorial Award. He has participated in two mission trips to Mexico with SVOSH (Students Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity). He is a member of the Iowa Optometric Association, American Optometric Association, and is an InfantSEE provider.

Dr. Collings is also involved in the Poweshiek Leadership Program, Men's Golf League and Adult Recreational Sports Leagues.

Kara S. Collings, O.D.

Dr. Kara Collings joined the Jensen Optometrists team in August 2008. She graduated from Illinois College of Optometry with Magna Cum Laude honors, was on the Dean's List, a Gold Key Member, Tomb & Key and Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Socities, Clinical Honors Program, Contact Lens Society, and a teaching assistant. She also participated in two mission trips to Mexico for SVOSH (Students Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity).

Dr. Collings is a member of the Iowa Optometric Association, American Optometric Association, and is an InfantSEE Provider.

Insurance Specialist/Receptionist

Jenny is a graduate of the University of Iowa. She joined the Jensen Optometrists team in October 2000. She serves our office as the Insurance Specialist. Jenny is a jack of all trades. She can pitch hit as a medical assistant, receptionist, or help in the lab. Jenny is also a member of the Iowa Optometric Assistants Association and a Certified Paraoptometric Assistant.

Kelly joined Jensen Optometrists in August 2010. She is a receptionist and sometimes fills in as a medical assistant she gets patients ready to see the doctor and administers tests for the doctors. Kelly graduated from Marshalltown Community College in November 2009 with a Certified Nursing Assistant degree.

Opticians/Lab Technician

Scott joined Jensen Optometrists in August 2008. He brings over 12 years of optical experience to our practice. When Scott is not serving as the Optical Lens Manager you can find him playing bass for his blues band MATT WOODS AND THE THUNDERBOLTS. He lives outside of Lynnville with his wife and children.

Christy recently joined Jensen Optometrists. She attended Indian Hills Community College and received her Nursing Assistant Certification in 2002. Christy worked several years as a Nursing Assistant, as well as assisting patients with rehabilitation therapy as a Restorative Aid. She is involved with eyewear selection along with adjustments and repairs. She also works directly with the doctors assisting with nursing home visits and special testing. Christy is the Optical Frame Manager and is studying for her American Board of Opticianry Certification.

Nikki started working for Jensen Optometrists in May 2011. She is a graduate of Indian Hills Community College with an Accounting degree and also her Certified Nursing Assistance certificate. She is currently an Apprentice Optician. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her children, and reading.

Medical Assistants

Jen joined the Jensen team in January 2011. As a Medical Assistant she performs pre-testing and prepares the patient to be seen by the doctors.  Jen is also the Contact Lens Specialist.  She over sees Contact Lens Insertion and Removal training and ordering contacts.  Jen enjoys spending time with family & friends and most of all her daughter Lily.  She is currently working on her degree at Iowa Valley Community College.

Lauren, a graduate from Nebraska Christian College, recently moved back to her hometown of Kellogg from the big city of Phoenix, Arizona in March of 2011. After her arrival home the Jensen team welcomed her on board, and she is currently enjoying her service as a Medical Assistant. She loves to meet new people.

Clinical Assistant

Debby is a graduate of St. Ambrose University. She joined the Jensen Optometrists team in March 2002. Debby, a long time Grinnellian, enjoys assisting the doctors and working in the office part-time. Debby is Past-Chair of the Board of Trustees at Grinnell Regional Medical Center. Debby with her husband, Paul, are co-owners of Ramsey-Weeks Realty.
