Our Practice
Clark J. Jensen, O.D., F.A.A.O. Dr. Clark did his undergraduate studies at Simpson College. He obtained his B.S. in Health Services in 1974 and Doctor of Optometry in 1976 at Pacific University. In 1997 Dr. Clark was appointed Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Pacific University College of Optometry. Dr. Clark joined Jensen Optometrists in 1976 and has been in practice for 31 years. He was Contributing Editor of Optometry Today, a professional journal, and has published articles in Optometry Today, The Contact Lens Spectrum, and The South African Optometrist. Dr. Clark loves to teach and has done so as Senior Lecturer at University of the North, Sovenga, South Africa. He was also Director of Optometry Clinics while at University of the North, and has given continuing optometric education lectures within the United States as well as South Africa. He is a member of the Iowa Optometric Association, American Optometric Association, South African Optometric Association, a Fellow of American Academy of Optometry, past President of the Heart of America Chapter of the American Academy of Optometry, Board Member and Treasurer of the American Society of Corneal and Refractive Technologies, Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity (VOSH)/Iowa, and is the Iowa Representative on the Vision Service Plan Regional Professional Committee. Dr. Clark's community involvement includes being a current member of the Grinnell United Methodist Church, Grinnell Lions Club, and a past President of the Grinnell Jaycees. Dr. Clark is on the Grinnell Regional Medical Center Foundation Board, and past Chairman on Grinnell Regional Medical Center's Board of Trustees. Dr. Clark continues to speak at continuing education seminars as well as educate his staff and patients. Scott B. Collings, O.D. Dr. Scott Collings joined the Jensen Optometrists team in August 2008. He graduated from Illinois College of Optometry where he was the Class Representative for three years, a teaching assistant, Gold Key Member, Clinical Excellence Award, and received the Dr. Irving A. Kernis Memorial Award. He has participated in two mission trips to Mexico with SVOSH (Students Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity). He is a member of the Iowa Optometric Association, American Optometric Association, and is an InfantSEE provider. Dr. Collings is also involved in the Poweshiek Leadership Program, Men's Golf League and Adult Recreational Sports Leagues. Kara S. Kremer, O.D. Dr. Kara Kremer joined the Jensen Optometrists team in August 2008. She graduated from Illinois College of Optometry with Magna Cum Laude honors, was on the Dean's List, a Gold Key Member, Tomb & Key and Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Socities, Clinical Honors Program, Contact Lens Society, and a teaching assistant. She also participated in two mission trips to Mexico for VOSH (Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity). Dr. Kremer is a member of the Iowa Optometric Association, American Optometric Association, and is an InfantSEE Provider. Issurance Specialist/Front Receptionist Jenny is a graduate of the University of Iowa. She joined the Jensen Optometrists team in October 2000. She serves our office as an insurance specialist. Jenny is also a member of the Iowa Optometric Assistants Association and a Certified Paraoptometric Assistant. Ann joined the Jensen Optometrists team in July 2008. She has several years of general office experience. Originally from the Colfax area, she now lives in Grinnell with her husband and 3 children. Optician/Optical Dispensary Supervisor Scott C. joined Jensen Optometrists in August 2008. He brings over 8 years of optical experience to our practice. When Scott is not working in the optical lab you can find him playing bass for his blues band MATT WOODS AND THE THUNDERBOLTS. He lives outside of Lynnville with his wife and 6 children. Brooke brings over 10 years of optical experience to our practice. Brooke joined the Jensen Optometrists team in July 1997. Brooke is the Optical Dispensary Supervisor and oversees our in-house lab ordering, lens cutting and eyewear repairs. She is a member of the Iowa Optometric Assistants Association. Brooke is an American Optometric Association Certified Paraoptometric Assistant and member of the American Board of Opticianry. Sheree & Lindsay Lindsay has been with Jensen Optometrists since January 2009. As a Drake University graduate, she has had various work experiences including working with KCCI television and at an attorneys office. She is relatively new to the Grinnell area being her husband manages the Browns Shoe Fit in Grinnell. Sheree joined Jensen Optometrists in Febuary 2009. She is a graduate of the University of Washington and received her Masters at Azuza Pacific University. She has spent some of her life working in careers of counseling and was Associate Dean of Students at Grinnell College before making a career change. Administrator/Clinical Assistant Amber joined our practice in Febuary 2008. She currently lives in New Sharon and is committed to providing the best customer service possible. When Amber is not in the office she is dedicating her time as a reservist in the United States Air Force. Debby is a graduate of St. Ambrose University. She joined the Jensen Optometrists team in March 2002. Debby, a long time Grinnellian, enjoys assisting the doctors and working in the office part-time. Debby is Past-Chair of the Board of Trustees at Grinnell Regional Medical Center. Debby with her husband, Paul, are co-owners of Ramsey-Weeks Realty. Contact Lens Specialist Heidi joined Jensen Optometrists in August 2008. Her strong passion for contact lenses has lead her to become an American Optometric Association Certified Paraoptometric Assistant. She worked in an optometrist's office before moving back to the Grinnell area. She currently lives in Grinnell with her husband and 3 children. |
